Postgraduate Medical Education

The objective of the residency program in Pediatrics is to provide outstanding education in pediatric medicine while delivering the highest caliber of patient care. The program provides the residents with strong foundation in general pediatrics and allows excellent exposure to all subspecialty care at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (Gen. Org.), which make the program have the broadest patient population.

Residents will learn to treat common diagnoses and see diagnostic dilemmas that are presented in a tertiary center. The department takes education very seriously.  Teaching time is protected, the staff is enthusiastic about teaching and emphasizes on evidence-based medicine.

The weekly schedule is always rich with educational activities. Training is always under supervision and the residents will develop supervisory skills as they become senior. The residents’ career opportunities will be unlimited and they will be prepared to pursue any aspect of pediatrics from primary care to subspecialty fellowships. Participation in research projects is actively promoted.
