Hematological Pathology

A two-year fellowship program designed to train physicians who completed the primary general pathology or clinical hematology program to provide them with the required factual knowledge and technical skills. The program enables them to function as diagnostic hematologists. The fellows will rotate in different diagnostic sections, i.e. coagulation, bone marrow procedures and processing, special tests for red blood cell disorders, automated hematology, flow cytometry, molecular hematology, cytogenetics and blood bank.

They will be trained in morphological reading of peripheral blood and bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, gaining experience in the utilization and integration of advanced techniques in diagnosis of various hematological disorders. Fellows will be trained in integrating clinical information for interpretation of various hematological tests. Research opportunities are available and promoted.
