Nuclear Medicine

This is a two-year fellowship program, emphasizing competency in general nuclear medicine imaging techniques, including radiopharmaceutical preparation and precautions as well as radiobiological concepts. The extended program offers training in advanced techniques such as nuclear cardiology, PET-CT, SPECT-CT, as well as various therapeutic procedures such as radio-iodine therapy and strontium treatment. An in-house cyclotron provides the fellow with a unique experience in the preparation and standards of radiopharmaceutical production.

Fellows will work closely with radiologists and learn to integrate findings of nuclear imaging studies with those of appropriate morphological imaging modalities. The Section has a strong tradition in research efforts that can further enrich the fellow’s experience.
