The Life Support Training Center (LSTC) offers a full-range of training courses to healthcare professionals within the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre General Organization and to the communities at large throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. LSTC courses are conducted under the patronage of the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Saudi Neonatal Resuscitation Program (SNRP).
The Training Center instructs healthcare providers in Basic Life Support (BLS) Initial/Renewal, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Initial/Renewal, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), ACLS Made Easy, PALS Made Easy, NRP Made Easy; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP Instructor Courses and Procedural Sedation Course (PSC). LSTC also provides Family and Friends CPR, First Aid, and Heart Savers CPR & AED to the community.
The LSTC conducts, monitors, and documents all relevant hospital wide basic and advanced life support mock codes and generates reports for assessment on a quarterly and annual basis in order to facilitate the overall improvement of emergent quality care. This includes the Mock Code teaching sessions for the hospital’s residency program. In addition to reviewing, assessing and reporting these outcomes to the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Committee, the LSTC contributes largely to the advancement of specialized growth of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
Course enrollments are completed online. All employees that are mandated (as per IPP: MCO-MC-ADM-03-001) to take a Life Support Course should enroll via iLearn.
