Emergency Medicine

 

In line with the hospital mission, the Department of Emergency Medicine operates to provide the highest quality of specialized health care in an integrated education and research setting. Our annual volume is 65,000 patients. The Department has an Adult, Pediatric and Ambulance Service Sections that operate 24/7 to provide state-of-the-art Emergency access for best out-come to all eligible patients. Our staff provides initial assessment and management of all patients presenting to DEM.   We maintain readiness for all internal and external disasters. Our aim is to be a world-leader in Emergency health care and assume leadership position by evidence based practice training and research.

Achievements

  • Have attained the designation of Accredited Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers, Ohio, USA. KFSH & RC is the first hospital in the Kingdom and only the second one in the Middle East have attained this accreditation.
  • Conducting Emergency Medicine Update Symposium three (3) times a year in different regional hospitals such as Taif, Madinah, Tabuk, etc.
  • Conducting Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound Courses- Basic and Instructor twice a year
  • Conducting International Conference in Pediatric Emergency Medicine every two years
  • Providing Consultant-based service for Residency and Fellowship Training Program for Adult and Pediatric Emergency Medicine
