The Department of Ophthalmology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) is comprised of highly skilled ophthalmologists and professional staff who can provide a complete range of medical and surgical management of both routine and complex eye disorders. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for those we serve by improving sight, and preventing blindness through compassionate patient care, community educational events, innovative research, and educational programs that advances the knowledge, and skills of practicing ophthalmologists everywhere, now and for future generations.


Our specialty services include cornea and external disease, comprehensive ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastic ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, genetics, glaucoma, retina/vitreous disorders, low vision, adult / pediatric optometry and contact lens fitting. The Ophthalmology Department not only handles patient care through internal referrals and consultations from various services/departments in the hospital, but also, caters to other eye hospitals tertiary referrals due to our multidisciplinary approach.

As we strive to improve the services we provide to the patients, to meet the expanding hospital demands, we continue to place a special emphasis in providing the highest standard of patient care. The Ophthalmology Department was one of the first departments participated in the Home Health Care. 
Our patients have access to a complete range of services in Ophthalmology by the multidisciplinary teams of ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists, specialized nurses, photographers and technicians. Specialized services are provided by ophthalmologists trained in the appropriate sub-specialties.
