The Department of Neurosciences is accredited by the Saudi Council for Medical Specialties as training center for:

- Neurosurgery Residency Training Program, Adult Neurology Residency and Fellowship Training Program, Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Training Program, Epilepsy Fellowship Training Program and recently approved for Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship Program and Neurophysiology Training Program.

  •  The Department of Neurosciences was re-nominated as class “A” Training Center by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies “WFNS” for WFNS & KFSHRC International Skull Base Fellowship.
  • The DNS has continued to be the Center of excellence for neurosurgical management of complex Brain, Skull Base and pituitary tumors, surgery for refractory epilepsy and movement disorders.
  • State of the art upgrade of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit “EMU” is completed. National Epilepsy Virtual Clinic has been launched in collaboration with health outreach department.
  • State-of-the-art smart operating room neurosurgical facilities with intraoperative imaging “BrainSuite” was launched on 2nd September 2014.
  • Department of Neurosciences organized the 1st Stereotactic and functional Neurosurgery international conference, 26-27 November 2014.
  • Department of Neurosciences conducts Intensive Microsurgery hands-on courses 4-times a year.
  • Department of Neurosciences in collaboration with WFNS conducts 2nd WFNS comprehensive neurosurgical approaches to skull base, 28-30 October 2014.
  • Department of Neurosciences conducted Neurophysiology Training Course 2014.
  • Department of Neurosciences established Multiple Sclerosis support group, awareness day for: Brain Health, Epilepsy and Awareness Booklet, and Movement Disorders.
  •  Department of Neurosciences contributed to several national and international conferences, presentations, publications in peer review journals, approved research projects and editorials
