KFSH&RC Graduates 17 Doctors in the Internal Medicine Fellowship Program

Prof. Rashid Al Rashid Al Hamid, COO of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh honored 17 graduates from the Saudi Fellowship Program of Internal Medicine Department at the Hospital. That is in addition to a number of consultants and trainee doctors who have achieved excellent results in medical research and academic studies during the past year.

During the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Department of Internal Medicine, Dr. Fahad Al- Suhaibani, Consultant of Internal Medicine and Chief of Resident Doctors Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh explained that the department has published 26 research papers in international scientific journals. That is in addition to approving 18 new research projects and presenting 10 research summaries in international conferences.

The events included the honoring of 17 graduates who completed their training in the Saudi fellowship program from the Department of Internal Medicine, he added. The best scientific research papers in the internal medicine department were also chosen, where Dr. Mohammed Khan was selected from the consultants category, followed by Dr. Nafeed al Haq and Dr. Ali Al-Zahrani. In the trainee doctor’s category, Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Qahtani was awarded the first position, followed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Rukaibi and Dr. Firas Al Jamili.  


He also added that the best resident doctor award at the advanced level was presented to Dr. Ihab Abu Farhana, while the award for the best resident doctor in the junior level was shared between Dr. Khaled al-Qarni, Dr. Taqi Al-Saleem and Dr. Bushra Al-Hazly. In the Fellowship doctor’s category, Dr. Rian Al-Fida was awarded the best-advanced doctor and Dr. Budour Al-Imadi was awarded best junior doctor.

He further explained that the best Assistant Consultant Doctor Award went to Dr. Osama Al-Alem, while the best consultant (teacher) award went to Dr.Sarfraz Saleemi. The ceremony also included honors given to former head of trainee doctors Dr.Moteb Al- Abdulwahab and his two deputies Dr. Mohammed Al-Hamoud and Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Anzi, the representative of resident doctors Dr. Husam al-Alsilmi, and the quality coordinator in the trainee doctors program Dr. Ihab Abu Farhana for their remarkable efforts in the past
