Minister of Health sponsors the graduation ceremony of 151 doctors in postgraduate programs at "KFSH&RC"

H.E. Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, Minister of Health and Board Chairman of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (General Organization), sponsored the graduation ceremony of 151 doctors who completed the Saudi Board fellowship program and subspecialty certification at KFSH&RC in Riyadh, 126 of them are Saudis and 25 doctors bearing various Arab nationalities.

H.E. Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, Minister of Health, expressed his happiness about the graduation of a number of highly qualified doctors, extending his congratulations to the graduates and their families and praised the efforts they made in receiving an extinguished training. He also appreciated the efforts of KFSH&RC in providing the medical postgraduate studies programs efficiently and effectively.

Moreover, Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of KFSH&RC confirmed that the number of graduates reached 1705 doctors, representing 14 different nationalities, throughout the lifetime of the academic medical training at KFSH&RC since more than three decades, which he considered an achievement that KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) is proud of, and is a normal result of the great efforts in the field of medical training of KFSH&RC to achieve the most important objectives and foundations of KFSH&RC since its establishment.   

Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh congratulated the graduates and their families, during his speech, and mentioned that the total number of graduates of this year is 151 doctors of the Saudi Board fellowship program and subspecialty certification, 53 of them from the fellowship program, 24 female doctors and 29 male doctors. In addition, the number of graduates of subspecialty programs is 98 doctors, 40 female doctors and 58 male doctors.

"Adopting 21 fellowship programs (Saudi Board) and 66 subspecialty programs at KFSH&RC reflects the hardworking of the hospital personnel, across the various departments and divisions. The national pivotal role played by KFSH&RC is demonstrated in the provision of medical postgraduate studies programs, appreciating the Academic and Training Affairs for the great efforts that exerted in the distinguished academic qualification field” Dr. Al Fayyadh added.    

Dr. Saud Alshunaify, Deputy Executive Director for Academic and Training Affairs, said that this graduates class is the highest in number since the beginning of the medical training programs in KFSH&RC, which reflects the continued increase in the number of graduates annually, thereby demonstrating KFSH&RC and its personnel’s efforts in this trend. He said, "Today, the country is witnessing a progress at all levels in the development and modernization fields in order to realize the Kingdom vision 2030, with the heart of which all health sector institutions are centered." This blessed vision, whose importance lies in developing the human resources as a major objective for most of its activities. Today, KFSH&RC celebrates this blessed gathering of our doctors to achieve the most important objectives of this vision in a time and occasion at the happiest and most beautiful moments, which is the national day occasion of our blessed KSA. You are proudly our gift on the glorious national day.   

Dr. Janan Bent Harith Darwish, who is delegated by the Ministry of Health from the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressed her happiness as well as the happiness of her fellow-doctors who completed the medical postgraduate studies programs and received advanced training, indicating her withdrawal from the fellowship program in Ireland, saying: "Every human being has to pass, sometimes willingly and sometimes not. When my fate took me to KFSH&RC, I chose to withdraw from the fellowship program in Ireland, which I consider my second home, as I graduated and worked at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin.

Dr. Janan Darwish expressed her sincere thanks to KFSH&RC for the distinguished training environment and high academic qualification provided.

Subsequently, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, Minister of Health, honored the distinguished doctors in the various training programs and then commemorative photographs were taken.
