Governor of Riyadh Inaugurates the New Emergency Building in KFSH&RC, Riyadh

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, will inaugurate on Monday evening January 8, 2018 the new Emergency Building at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh. The building consists of six floors with a capacity of 110 beds and integrated infrastructure of all supporting services.

 

His Excellency Chief Executive Officer of KFSH&RC, Dr. Majed Al Fayyadh appreciated the inauguration of the new Emergency building in KFSH&RC, Riyadh under the patronage of his Highness, Governor of Riyadh. Pointing out that this reflects the care of his Highness and his support for development projects, especially medical services projects. Emphasizing that this is an extension of the support and devotion provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince in supporting advanced medical projects to provide the best medical care for the citizens of the Kingdom.

 

Dr. Al Fayyad added that the establishment of the Emergency Building at KFSH&RC, Riyadh with a capacity of 110 beds provided with all the necessary infrastructures including laboratory, pharmaceutical, radiological and other diagnostic and therapeutic services; comes as a part of the recently completed strategic medical projects after the opening of King Abdullah Center for Oncology and Liver Diseases In April 2017, which consists of 23 floors with 300 beds capacity with advanced applications and concepts in diagnostic and therapeutic care. He also stressed that, the emergency services are one of the main assets in providing specialized medical care in the hospital. The emergency department consisted of 40 beds was receiving about 60,000 patients annually over the past years, mostly cases of tumors, heart disease, genetic diseases and organ transplantation, requiring the highest care provided through medical specialties with a sophisticated and integrated infrastructure.

 

Dr. Fayyad expressed that within instituting the new Emergency Building, it was taken into consideration to implement modern models and concepts in the provision of the service, which enables the providers of medical care and health workers to provide the services efficiently and in a high quality. In addition to linking the building to the main hospital directly, as well as connecting to the service tunnel extending at a distance of 1014 meters, 9 meters width and 5.5 height, which connects the central building of energy that was completed last year within the strategic projects of the current and future buildings of KFSH&RC. It also includes all kinds of electromechanical equipment that provide services for all the expansion work in the hospital, and characterized by the best environmental health qualifications and air quality standards using electric cars to transport different materials of medicines and clothing with the best safety systems.
