Overview

The Department of Medicine at KFSHRC – Gen.Org, Jeddah Branch is one of the largest clinical departments with annual admission of 1,500 patients over 55 staff physicians. The clear strength of the Department is outstanding staff physicians within the department sections and services that includes; Critical Care Medicine, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, General Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Immunology and Allergy, and Dermatology.

      • Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy with Bronchoalveolar Lavage
      • Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy with Endobronchial and fluoroscopic Transbronchial Biopsy

  1. Critical Care Medicine – running and managing a wide spectrum of medical and post-surgical intensive care cases with emphasis on the high standard and a cutting edge of medical treatment on the arena of critical care medicine.

    • Inpatient Services include clinical teaching unit (CTU) and daily inpatient medical consultation for other departments.

    • Special Service - Admission of Radioactive iodine therapy for thyroid cancer
    • Inpatient Service - Consultation
    • Outpatient services include diabetic clinic, thyroid cancer clinic, general endocrine clinic, endocrine protocol and DPU for dynamic testing and IV medication
  1. Infectious Diseases
    • Special services include acquired immunodeficiency clinic and immunocompromised clinic
    • Daily consultation service for various community acquired and health care associated infections in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients including ER, CTU, cardiac, surgical, ICU, OBS/Gyn, Oncology/Hematology, solid organ transplant and hematological transplant and HIV patients.

  1. Dermatology
    • Inpatient consultation and treats variety of cutaneous diseases, and specialized in treating the following:
      • Cutaneous malignancies including but not limited to Cutaneous T cell lymphoma, melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers
      • Autoimmune conditions such as lupus, localized scleroderma and morphea, and dermatomyositis.
      • Inflammatory disorders such as psoriasis, psoriasis arthritis, lichen planus, pyoderma gangrenosum.
      • Hair and nail diseases such as alopecia areata
      • Drug induced and viral exanthems
      • Warts
      • Ache
      • Pediatric dermatology including hemangiomas, port wine stains and genetic disorders
      • Photosensitive disorders such as polymorphus light eruption and solar urticarial
