Overview
As we increase the use of nuclear applications in medicine, energy, agriculture and industry, radiation protection for the population remains a priority.
Establishing a Reference Biodosimetry Laboratory for the Safe Usage of Radiation
We aim to establish a reference biodosimetry laboratory to enhance the nation’s emergency response to cases of radiological accidents, with assays that can assess health consequences of radiation exposure. We also study the genetic basis of radiosensitivity, its possible associations with cancer predisposition, while exploring innovative radio-sensitising drugs for cancer therapy, and search for biomarkers to individualize cancer treatment and improve radiotherapy outcome.
Our Team
We are committed to research that advances innovation while prioritising safety.
