We focus on identifying biomarkers and therapeutic targets across multiple cancer types, with a particular emphasis on precision oncology and making impactful discoveries that lead to improved patient outcomes.
Unlocking Molecular Signatures in Cancer Using the Latest Dna Sequencing Technology
Our genes are a contributing factor to the development of diseases, including many types of cancer. In our research, we aim to identify the molecular and genetic signature of some of the commonest cancers affecting the Saudi population – colorectal cancer, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, and ovarian cancer. Using Next Generation Sequencing, we are working towards a comprehensive catalogue of genomic abnormalities and clinical associations that will provide a better understanding of the diseases and how to treat them.
We are also establishing studies based on the Saudi or Gulf population, as genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors may differ significantly from more widely available data from the West, thus fulfilling our goal for personalized medicine and precision therapy.
