Overview
In our investigation of the key drivers of tumour recurrence and increased cancer mortality, we employ diverse experimental techniques to dissect the complex biology of therapy resistance and metastasis, with the hopes of transforming scientific insights into therapeutic strategies.
Uncovering the Role of Biomarkers in Cancer Progression
As the repertoire of cancer and immunology biomarkers continues to expand, so do questions regarding their role in promoting or inhibiting various malignant processes. Our team have demonstrated the expression of fascin, an actin-bundling protein, in aggressive breast cancer subtypes and dendritic cells of the immune system, and are currently deepening our understanding of the role that fascin plays in disease.
We are also investigating the cross-talk between breast cancer cells and the resident breast microbiota to understand how this interaction influences disease progression.
Our Team
With our shared expertise, we aim to improve outcomes for cancer patients.
