Overview
We aim to redefine cancer treatment by advancing the frontiers of immunology, genetics, and biotechnology.
Harnessing Our Immune System in the Battle Against Cancer
Our research projects are focused on developing next-generation cancer immunotherapies by targeting specific mechanisms within our immune system. These innate immune pathways, orchestrated by immune cells such as T and NK cells with cancer-fighting capabilities, can be further enhanced through innovative genetic engineering strategies.
One novel strategy is to encode antigens associated with cancer stem cells into a viral vector to elicit a potent immune response much like a vaccine, establishing durable tumour control and immune memory. This pioneering strategy may combat the spread and regrowth of particularly aggressive tumours.
