    The procedures (major and miner) nerve blocks: -

23. Spinal cord stimulation (S.C.S) under G.A has been used for treatment of chronic pain. Patient will be admitted to hospital one day before the procedure.           

24. Baclofen injection: - intrathecal baclofen therapy. For spasticity management.

Nurse clinic: -

1.  Acupuncture, is foremost a subjective art and the treatment should be tailored to suit the needs of each

 individual patient.

2. Tens, devices are used for the symptomatic relief and management of chronic (long term) intractable pain and or

as adjunctive treatment in the management of post surgery & post traumatic acute pain problem.

Type of the patient for tens & acupuncture: -

-Cancer patients.

-Orthopedic patients (e.g. low back pain).

-Patients c/o headache.     

-Patient with myofacial pain.

-Patients with neuralgia.

-Post operative patient who develop nerve entrapment in scar.

-Backache.

-Rheumatoid arthritis.

Contraindication: -

Don’t apply tens when pain symptoms are undiagnosed.

Don’t apply acupuncture if patient on anti coagulant drug.

Education activity: -

-Adverse reactions: -

   Skin irritation in some patient.

   Due to adhesive tape.

   Long duration of applying tens.

   Unchanged the site.

-Teach the patient & family how to apply tens.

-Teach the patient how to use durogesic patch its, for patient who need continuous relief of their moderate

   to sever pain.

Also pain clinic run the general and plastic, minor surgery procedures, all surgical procedure must done under L/A.

The type of procedure it has been done in the pain clinic:-

-Carpel tunnel release.

-In growing toenail.

-Trigger finger release.

-Testicular biopsy.

-Excision of lymphoma or cyst.

-Scar revision.

-Skin biopsy.

-Skin tag.

-Port Cath removal.
