Clinical Trials Introduction Message A Scientific Pathway to better patient care
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the Symposium and Workshops on "Clinical Trials: A Scientific Pathway to
Better Patient Care", which has been organized by the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Scientific Computing, Research Centre, and Academic Affairs & Postgraduate Education at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, scheduled to be held 16-18 September 2002/9-11 Rajab 1423.
The scientific and appropriate way of determining the relative efficacy or
toxicity of new therapies is by conducting controlled clinical trials. To provide quality health care, successful, efficient and cost-effective clinical trials rely on up-to-date and accurate knowledge of current procedures to establish regulations for future trends.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting research in all
medical fields to further improve health care for its citizens. Many health care institutions are participating in single or multicenter collaborative trials in the Kingdom. The number of biomedical- related studies is increasing at a great pace.
Your participation in this Symposium and Workshop will give you the chance to meet and interact with world authorities in the field of Clinical Trials. We hope you will join with your
colleagues in Riyadh and share your experiences and knowledge. Working together will give everyone the chance to improve healthcare and find solutions for the well being of mankind all over the world.
Abdulaziz Al-Othaimeen, PhD Chairman, Organizing Committee Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Scientific Computing Department King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre
