FIRST CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: Deadline August 16, 2003 ABSTRACT FORM
1. PREPARATION: Title and complete text must appear within the four defined margins. Illustrations are not allowed, but a brief table is permissible. The abstract should be a brief summary of the
paper and should include an introductory sentence stating its purpose. A brief description of the work involved and a statement of any conclusions to be drawn from the work should be included. It is not satisfactory
to state, "The results will be discussed".
2. RESPONSIBILITY:
Authors have full responsibility for any statements submitted. Authors are also responsible for proof-reading the typed abstract. Authors must disclose and explain any potential conflicts of interest in a separate letter enclosed with the abstract.
3. CHANGES: Once abstracts have been submitted to the Symposium Organizing Committee, changes will not be permitted.
4. TITLE: Capitalize all letters. Keep brief, indicating the nature of the investigation. Do not skip a line between title and author.
5. AUTHORS: Last name followed by other names and institutional affiliations. If no institution is involved, give city and state.
6. TEXT:
Type in lower case letters. In text box, indent first line three spaces. The text must be a single paragraph. Use only very common abbreviations. Non-proprietory (generic) name is required the first time a drug is mentioned and is to be written in lower case letters.
7. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Abstracts must fit in the box provided and be submitted with three (3) photocopies. AND, if available, on a 3.5" floppy disk in WordPerfect or Microsoft Word for Windows.
Disks must be labeled with author's name, title of paper, and word processing program used including version number. Provide a printout of the Abstract and three (3) copies that exactly match the disk file. File
names must clearly indicate the contents of each file.
8. DO NOT FOLD OR BEND form when returning abstract to the Symposium Organizing Committee.
9. PROTECT the original and reproductions with the use of cardboard backing if necessary.
NOTE FOR POSTER ABSTRACTS
Abstracts not exceeding 200 words are accepted for poster presentation at the symposium. The abstract should contain original information and reflect the main theme of the symposium, "Muscular Dystrophy and
Related Conditions". Case Presentation and reviews are discouraged.
