Dear Colleagues:
The Endocrine Section of the Department of Medicine at KFSH&RC will be presenting, in conjunction with Academic & Training Affairs, an international multi-disciplinary symposium on the subject of
Neuroendocrine Disorders (NED). The Organizing Committee considers this subject to be of paramount importance to a wide group of clinicians and scientists for reasons outlined below. NED constitutes a heterogeneous
group of disorders that originate from endocrine glands, as well as endocrine cells dispersed widely in the gastroentero-pancreatic and respiratory tracts. NED usually presents with organ specific benign or
malignant tumors and may be associated with a wide variety of syndromes. They could be familial or sporadic. Major advances have been recently made in areas of diagnosis and management of these
disorders. Successful treatment requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Accordingly, the subject of NED appeals to a large cross-section of Clinicians: Internists, Endocrinologists, Oncologists,
Gastroenterologists, Endoscopists, Pulmonary Physicians, Surgeons, Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiotherapists, Pathologists, Genetic Specialists, and Molecular Biologists.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to share and participate in this exciting event.
Hussein Raef, MD Chairman, Organizing Committee
