Welcome Address from Organizing Committee Chairman
Dear Healthcare Professionals:
It gives me great pleasure to announce "TheFirst King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research CentreUpdate in Rheumatology",
that will be held at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre Postgraduate Centre Auditorium on 20-21 February 2007.
The program is designed to update and discuss with you most recent advances in rheumatic disease with especial emphasize on subjects which is of great interest to all rheumatologists, general and family physicians
and allied services who is dealing with rheumatic condition. This includes the most recent advances in the role of biological therapy in rheumatic disease and the lesson learned since their introduction many years
ago, evidence based treatment in osteoporosis, connective tissue disease and pregnancies, vasculitis, antiphospholipid syndrome and much more. There will be invited speakers from the States and Canada in
addition to twenty distinguished national speakers.
In addition to that you will meet with colleagues all over the Kingdom which will give you a broad idea about health issue related to rheumatic disease in the Kingdom. There will be a full dedicated session to
discuss proposed guidelines for treating rheumatic disease such as the use of Biologicals in RA and the use of COX 2 in treating painful condition.
There is also an excellent opportunity to discuss difficult cases which have some diagnostic, or management, dilemma, with the aim to learn from each other.
The meeting will also give you an excellent opportunity to collaborate with regards to research, audit and performance improvement projects, and the door is open for any participants who showed interest in that
field.
In conclusion, I would like and hope that all our rheumatologists and allied services and members register for the meeting and I am looking forward for your active participation in the scientific program.
