Pharmaceutical Care Division Internship

 

Introduction:

The Pharmaceutical Care Division provides training opportunities for interns in the following areas of practice: ambulatory service, inpatient service, and sterile preparation, in addition to clinical training in different specialties. The trainees are involved in educational experiences and other training opportunities, during the training period. The trainee will participate in a structured program designed to enhance their professional practice, knowledge, and skills. The Pharmaceutical Care Division strives to provide an environment, which encourages all personnel to achieve professional competence and excellence. Within this environment, the trainee will be expected to perform in an ethical, moral, and legal manner to accomplish their goals.

 

Objectives:

  • Verify orders for patient medications.
  • Apply an aseptic technique.
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Prepare & handle medications accurately and safely.
  • Counsel patients regarding medication appropriately.
  • Describe the classification and significance of controlled medications in KSA. 

 

Duration:

Five (5) weeks in each rotation – (Total of 4 rotations)

 

Acceptance Criteria

  • Internship request letter from Intern’s sponsor
  • Saudi national or borne from Saudi mother only
  • GPA 3 out of 5 or above
