Respiratory Care Services Department

 

Introduction:

The Respiratory Care Internship program is a one-year (52-week) training Program, built around various clinical specialties covered by Respiratory Care Services. The established plan is designed to provide the intern with a fulfilling Learning experience and to facilitate completion of all key competencies and Clinical skills. The practical components of this program have been specifically Developed to meet the clinical educational required to complete the academic degree.

 

Duration:

The training program comprised of multiple phases as follows:

  1. Phase I: (2 Months)
  • General ward Rotation
  • Blood Gas Lab Rotation
  • Transport of Ventilated Patients Rotation
  • Bronchoscopy Rotation
  1. Phase II: (4 Months)
  • ICU and Rapid Response Team Rotation (PHASE I)
  • Pulmonary Function Lab Rotation
  • Home care Rotation
  1. Phase III: (5 Months)
  • ICU and Rapid Response Team Rotation (PHASE II)

 

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Overall Academic performance and grade point average GPA > 75% or equivalent
  • Respiratory Therapy Basic Knowledge exam
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pass the interview
