ERAS is an evidence based program that is designed for patients undergoing major surgeries, including cesarean sections, to enhance early recovery and speed-up the return to normal activity.

The widespread adoption of ERAS internationally, related to the mounting evidence that the implementation of this program results in benefits such as: reduce morbidity, reduce length of stay, patients’ earlier return to normal activities to, increase patients’ satisfaction, and improve their quality of life.

To achieve the expected goals from such a program, a multidisciplinary team of: obstetricians, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, clinical dietitians, home health care staff, physical therapists, and pharmacists, will all collaborate to support women undergoing cesarean sections to ensure enhanced recovery.

In closing, we aim to support women and their families, by providing them with all the information they might need during their journey with ERAS program. In hope to increase their acceptance, cooperation and eventually improve their quality of life.
