King Faisal Hospital Conducted a Women’s Health Awareness Day

The internal medicine department in collaboration with Social Responsibility department has organized a Women’s Health Awareness Day at King Faisal Specialized Hospital & Research Centre (Gen. Org) Riyadh. Audience were presented with the most common health issues for women, such as Heart Diseases, Osteoporosis, Menopause issues, and Blood clots as well as Mental statues assessment and early detection of cancer such as Breast Cancer and Uterine Cancer.

During this awareness event that lasted from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, there was a presentation of a detailed timeline regarding all the periodic medical examinations necessary for women such as checkup for Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Osteoporosis Breast cancer and Lunge Cancer. In addition to that, a free medical examination was offered to the attendees for blood sugar, blood pressure, bone density and waist radios as well as providing the results for the attendees on the spot with health recommendations. There were also other departments from King Faisal Hospital who participated in this event to offer the awareness needed from their side, such as, Pharmacy department, Nutrition department, Dental, Radiology and Urology.  

It is worth mentioning that King Faisal Specialized Hospital and Research Centre (Gen. Org) provides a Women’s Health Fellowship Program since 2015 as a post graduate medical education program that is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and it is the first program of its kind in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, which is specialized in women’s health issues. The program is focusing on preparing doctors to be able to provide the highest standards in medical services for the women in Saudi Arabia. In order to enroll in the program, applicants must have the Saudi board in internal medicine or family medicine.
