Overview

Dr. Alhamlan serves as Deputy Executive Director for Research and Innovation and is a Consultant and Senior Scientist in Translational Research in Infectious Diseases at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC). She holds a PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School. Her expertise includes IVD, microbial genomics, and women’s health, with a focus on sexually transmitted infections, HPV-related cancers. Dr. Alhamlan has played key roles in national and international research initiatives and advisory bodies, collaborating with the Ministry of Health, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and global health organizations. She is the Founder and Vice President of Rofaida Women’s Health Organization and a leading advocate for cervical cancer prevention and HPV elimination in the region.

Career Background

Dr. Alhamlan received her PhD from the University of Idaho and completed advanced executive and clinical research training at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School. She joined KFSHRC as a postdoctoral fellow in Infection and Immunity, then progressed to Consultant and Senior Scientist. She has held academic appointments at Alfaisal University and currently serves as Adjunct Professor. Her leadership roles include Head of the Scientific Information Office at KFSHRC and her current appointment as Deputy Executive Director for Research and Innovation. Dr. Alhamlan is an advisor to national regulatory and health bodies and a member of international scientific and public health organizations. She has led multiple nationally funded research projects and contributed extensively to peer-reviewed publications in infectious diseases, women’s health, and public health.
