Summary

Develops and implements departmental training programs and in-service education, both formal and informal, for technical staff, inclusive of trainees.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Develops and coordinates departmental training programs utilizing specialized knowledge of staff members. 

2. Prepares training program for staff members who need continuing education units to maintain licensure, registration and certification. 
3. Acts as a training resource for staff who require guidance to upgrade skills. 
4. Develops orientation programs for new employees and participates in orientation. 
5. Consults with other health care personnel to coordinate training of staff. 
6. Liaises with outside agencies to develop training programs for students and trainees. 
7. Responsible for evaluation of trainees’ progress and resolution of problems related to training. 
8. Assists with selections of students and interns, coordinates their scheduling and training programs within the department. 
9. Liaises with local universities and schools in matters related to radiology education. 
10. Counsels students and makes recommendations regarding retention. 
11. Participates in development and planning of seminars and workshops. 12. Works closely with Training and Development Department on requirements in educational goals and planning future educational needs of the department. 
13. Ensure compliance with section’s policies, procedures, protocols and quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
 14. Ensure compliance with Radiation Safety rules and regulations of KFSH&RC in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other National or International Regulatory bodies, as communicated by the Radiation Safety Officer. 
15. Ensure compliance with ALARA principle Role within the section practices. 
16. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures. 
17. Participates in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable

Education

Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology Sciences/Radiological Technology is required.

Experience Required

 Four (4) years of related experience with Master’s, or six (6) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Current registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required. 


 Registration by American Registry of Radiological Technologist or equivalent in country of origin is required for non-Saudis.
