Dr. Al-Qassabi honors 35 graduates in Department of Internal Medicine physicians' training programs at KFSH&RC

His Excellency Dr. Qassim Al-Qassabi, Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), honored 35 graduates of Saudi Fellowship & Residency Programs in the Department of Internal Medicine, in addition to some consultants and trainee doctors who made distinguished efforts in medical, research, and academic aspects during 2016.

Dr. Al-Qassabi, while sponsoring the Department of Internal Medicine 21st Annual Honoring Ceremony at KFSH&RC, mentioned that the number of registered trainee physicians in 2016 reached 150 in the Saudi Fellowship and Residency programs in the Department of Internal Medicine, 35 of whom have been graduated.

Dr. Al-Qassabi congratulated the trainee physicians while assiduously finishing the physicians’ training programs.

Dr. Al-Qassabi praised the Department of Internal Medicine as one of KFSH&RC’s biggest departments and for the effort it provides to meet the increasing needs to serve the patients in the subspecialties assumed by KFSH&RC.

Dr. Abdulaziz Al Rashed, Internal Medicine Consultant and Supervisor of Internal Medicine physicians' training programs at KFSH&RC in Riyadh, showed that the Department of Internal Medicine published 24 research papers in peer reviewed international medical journals in 2016; in addition to the adoption of nine new research projects, and presentation of 21 research briefs in international conferences.

Dr. Al Rashed announced during the Department of Internal Medicine 21st Annual Honoring Ceremony Event, the choice of the best physicians in training field. In the first place of consultants, Dr. Muhannad Hawari was chosen as the best Master Physician, and Dr. Osama Al Alam was chosen as the best Assistant Consultant; in addition, Dr. Muhammad Ahmad, the Senior Internal Medicine Consultant, was honored for his long service in the Department of Internal Medicine.

“Trainee physicians were honored, as Dr. Badoor Al Amadi won the first place for the advanced level and Dr. Ihab Abo Farhana won the first place for the beginner level. In addition, Dr. Muhammad Al Hamoud won the Best Resident Doctor Award for the advanced level, and both Dr. Maha Al Amri and Dr. Sadeem Al Furaih won the Best Residents Award for the beginner level” Dr. Al Rashed noted.
