Overview
Our research is focused on assessing exposure to environmental pollutants in vulnerable populations particularly women and children, and examining their links to adverse health outcomes.
We study how environmental factors affect public health by linking pollutant exposure to health outcomes.
Environmental pollutants – whether obvious or insidious – can have serious implications on our health. Pollutants such as parabens, benzene, and trace metals can exacerbate poor health, or act as carcinogens and cause cancer. Our current projects investigate potential adverse effects of pollutants on specific conditions in vulnerable populations.
We hope that a better understanding of the causative links between pollutants and disease will help to raise public awareness, guide regulatory policies and inform early preventative strategies in the population.
