Career Background
Dr. Khan is currently working as a Senior Scientist & Team Leader at the Research Centre, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC), Jeddah. Before joining KFSH&RC-Jeddah, Dr. Khan worked as an Associate Professor for more than five years at the Department of Biochemistry, King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Saudi Arabia. At KAU-Jeddah, Dr. Khan mentored many Ph.D. students who are now doing their postdoc training in reputed universities like UCSD, Cleveland Clinic, Northwestern University, and Institute Curie.
Dr. Khan is an elected member of Royal Society of Biology, UK and currently holds an additional appointment as Adjunct Professor, at the College of Medicine, Al Faisal University, Riyadh. Dr. Khan’s lab is one of the most prominent labs around the world, studying RNA modifications. Dr. Khan’s laboratory has made seminal discoveries regarding the regulatory role of mRNA acetylation in global metabolism.
