The Urology Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) offers the highest level of care and expertise in the field of urology. The program provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of urologic conditions. Our team of experienced urologists have decades of combined experience. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our patients in a compassionate, state-of-the-art environment. We provide a multidisciplinary approach to our care, collaborating with the departments of oncology, pathology, and other specialties to ensure the best available treatments for our patients.

Training Structure

The residency program consists of a one-year general surgery rotation followed by four years of specialty training in different subspecialties of urology, which includes minimally invasive surgery, endourology, oncology, andrology, infertility, reconstructive surgery and pediatric urology. Our program is designed to ensure trainees have an excellent education and the skills necessary for success in the field of urology. Our residency program strives to create an environment of learning and growth for all of our residents.

Educational Activities

The program consists of weekly grand rounds, research activities, simulation center, animal lab, and multidisciplinary tumor boards. These activities provide a well-rounded education experience for our residents, allowing them to develop the skills needed to become successful in the field of urology. During the weekly grand rounds, residents are given the opportunity to present their research and clinical findings to their peers as well as faculty. This allows them to gain valuable feedback on their work and get insight into the field of urology. The simulation center and animal lab offer residents the chance to practice their surgical and technical skills in a safe and controlled environment, giving them the confidence, they need before they enter the operating room. The multidisciplinary tumor boards provide an opportunity for residents to learn from faculty and other specialists in the field, giving them a comprehensive view of the disease process and how to manage it. Through these education activities, our urology residents are well-prepared to enter the field and continue their education.
