Introduction:
The Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory is committed to preparing graduates to provide the highest quality of non-invasive cardiac investigations for patients of King Faisal Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) and to all other departments in a highly specialized hospital environment. Cardiovascular Technology is a highly technical allied health profession, which provides excellent career options with the opportunity to contribute to the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. The three-month clinical training program is designed for interns who have graduated from National Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) Bachelor’s degree programs. The Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory has designed the internship program in accordance with national and international standards.
Objectives:
• Integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice.
• Apply understanding of basic cardiac anatomy and physiology by identifying cardiac chambers and structures and mechanics.
• Enhance confidence in the clinical environment.
• Demonstrate good work ethic.
• Develop clinical proficiency.
Duration:
Three (3) months in each rotation in three sections: Adult Echo, Pediatric Echo, and Electrophysiology
Acceptance Criteria:
• Internship request letter from the intern’s sponsor
• Saudi national or born to a Saudi mother
• A GPA of 3.5 out of 5 or 3 out 4 and above.
• Currently enrolled in a recognized Cardiovascular Technology or Equivalent Program.
• Valid English Qualification IELTS (minimum score of 4.5, or equivalent).
