Introduction:
The mission of the Financial Affairs Department is to promote effective financial management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal policies and procedures to assure the integrity of allocated funds and resources in support of patient services.
Objectives:
Hereunder is the outline of the training program designed for interns accepted in the Financial Affairs Department to help them fully enhance their knowledge from theoretical to practical application approaches, familiarizing them with the actual world of work, as follows:
• Investment Office / Business Advisory: Overview of investment processes, forecasting and financial analysis, and the study of market volatility.
• Cost Accounting: Introduction to cost accounting principles and costing methodology.
• Decision Support Unit: Understanding the decision-making processes.
• Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
• Overview of budget development process.
• Introduction to financial reporting, monitoring, and control; review and analysis of financial and statistical data of the Chief Financial Officer and the outcomes.
• Disbursement:
• Understanding the accounts payable cycle and process.
• Introduction to basic principles of fund management monitoring and control processes.
• General Accounting: Overview of the preparation of financial statements, reconciliation process, general ledger (GL) and journal ledger (JL) entries.
• Fixed Assets Control: Introduction to fixed asset management.
• Revenue:
• Introduction to accounts receivable management.
• Understanding the billing and collection process.
Duration:
• Six (6) months maximum
Acceptance Criteria:
• Internship request letter from intern’s sponsor
• Saudi national or born to a Saudi mother
• A GPA of 4 out of 5 or 3 out of 4 and above
• Bachelor's degree and above
• Pass the interview
• Pass the KFSHRC English Placement Test
• Submit the CV, transcript, and letter from the university
