Dear All,
Communication is essential in every physicians’ daily work; this include gathering relevant medical information to reach accurate diagnosis, counseling patients, relaying important medical instructions and dealing with patients during difficult situations. In addition, good communication between healthcare workers affects quality of the work relationships, job satisfaction and has a huge influence on patient safety.
There is a great evidence linking poor communication skills with increased malpractice risk, non-adherence, patient and clinician dissatisfaction, and poor patient health outcomes. Patients’ perception about the quality of the health care delivered depends on their interaction with their physician and health care team.
