"KFSH&RC" Introduces 134 Male and Female Physicians to the Medical Field

On Tuesday 29 November 2016, H.E. Minister of Health, Chairman of the Board of Directors of General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, sponsored the graduation ceremony of (134) male and female physicians who have completed the fellowship and Saudi Board programs at King Salman Auditorium  at the Headquarters of the Hospital in Riyadh, where one hundred and twelve (112) male and female physicians were delegated from within the Kingdom and twenty two (22) were delegated from abroad.

on his part, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Qasim Al-Qasabi clarified that the graduates represent various health sectors at the Kingdom, in addition to male and female physicians who were delegated from several countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan and India.

He said that today we witness the graduation of (134) male and female physicians of various specialties, and from various health sectors, fifty nine (59) graduates completed their fellowship programs and seventy five (75) completed their subspecialties (Saudi Board) through twenty one (21) fellowship programs and sixty four (64) Subspecialty programs.

Dr. Al Qasabi noted that the number of graduates since the launch of medical postgraduate program at the hospital about three decades ago, reached one thousand five hundred fifty four (1554) male and female physicians of fourteen different citizenships and from various health sectors both within the Kingdom and abroad, with which accomplishment this ingrained medical institution is proud, considering the same as a natural product of the intensified efforts in the medical training field made by the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, and came as a realization of the most important goals and principles on which it is based since its establishment; indicating that the organization has issued three (3)  peer reviewed scientific journals: The Saudi Medical Journal, The Hematology and Oncology Journal and the International Journal of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine; in addition to issuing a periodical reader journal in the Kingdom titled "al Takhassusi" concerned in disseminating health culture and raising the awareness in public health and diseases.

On the other hand, Dr. Saud Al-Shanafey, Deputy Executive Director, Academic & Training Affairs of the General Organization of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre expressed the sentiments of delight,  pleasure and pride of those graduate groups, indicating that this prestigious appearance reflects the support that the organization allocates for the training process as an established strategic goal over decades.

Dr. Al-Shanafey said that this ceremony is the result of devoted work by those responsible for these training programs over the three last decades with a direct support by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, where the Hospital managed to increase the program capacity in a response to the constant increase in training needs for Saudi physicians without prejudice to quality of training and the health service provided to patients.

On her part, Dr. Amal Yasin Zaman, a graduate of the infertility and reproduction surgery subspecialty delivered the graduates' address which included" It is of great honor for us that you share our joy, we the children of this homeland which illuminated the world with the lights of the Mission and Divine Revelation, and which today it continues to provide with the light of the achievements of its researchers in the medical field."

She added: "Our honorable professors, your efforts in the field of science, medical research and professional development will turn our country into a beacon sought by both therapy and science searchers."

She said: "we present the graduation happiness today which is mixed with all respect, love and appreciation to each and every father and mother (even if absent) and to every husband, wife, brother, and sister, to every son and daughter, and to everyone who had helped us in making this fantastic dream true, because you are the basis of our success."
