37 Research Papers under Arbitration at Pediatric Research Day in KFSH&RC

Dr. Rashed Al Rashed Al Hamid, Chief Operating Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh launched “the 5th Pediatric Research Day” which included the revision of 37 research papers, of which 24 attained top grades by the scientific committee, in order to keep pace with the newest developments in the research field and to improve medical research in pediatrics. Four physicians were awarded intangible awards for the excellence of their research.

Professor Sami Alhajjar, Chairman Pediatrics at KFSH&RC Riyadh, referred to the leading position of the Department of Pediatrics in the field of scientific research. In 2014, the department issued the first international journal dedicated to children and teenagers, and was authenticated by world’s top index for scientifically certified medical essays: EMBASE; and was also included within the list of international journals for ethics of scientific research: COPE.

Dr. Wajeeh Aldekhail, Consultant, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Head of Riyadh KFSH&RC Pediatric Research Unit, and Head of the organizing committee, confirmed that during the previous year, the KFSH&RC Pediatric Research Unit managed to publish 29 researches in prestigious and international scientific journals, in addition to 42 researches approved for publication.

“Pediatric Research Unit discussed 37 research papers submitted by pediatric consultants in all specialties, resident physicians, and fellow physicians at KFSH&RC in Riyadh and Jeddah. Their subjects focused on the latest outcomes in pediatrics in different specialties, in order to encourage competitiveness among physicians and to be familiar with the latest developments in the field of scientific research” Dr. Aldekhail added.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of a host of outstanding pediatrics, such as Professor Sulaiman Mohammed Al-Mayouf, Pediatric Rheumatology Consultant, and Professor Hamoud Almousa, Pediatric Consultant, Allergist / Immunologist, as they were awarded the Best Scientific Research by KFSH&RC in Riyadh in 2016, in addition to their research activities submitted and discussed at international medical conferences and prestigious scientific journals. The ceremony also honored Dr. Suliman Aljumaah, Consultant & Head Pediatric, and Infectious Diseases for being awarded by the Infectious Diseases Society of America in appreciation for developing the KFSH&RC anti-infection program.
