45 Research Papers under Arbitration in Pediatric Research Day in “KFSH&RC”

His Excellency Dr. Majid Alfayyadh, Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, witnessed the inauguration of the “Annual Pediatric Research Day”, during which (45) research papers were presented for arbitration, including (31) research receiving the highest grades from the scientific committee, in order to keep up with the latest research developments, and upgrade the medical research in the different specialties of pediatrics, and (6) physicians won in-kind awards for their distinguished research.

Dr. Alfayyadh asserted in the inaugurating speech that research is one of the most important fields in transition programs in KFSH&RC during the upcoming period, urging research teams to develop the annually produced distinguished research in order to witness tangible results, and reflection on the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the medical environment, praising what he saw of research presented in terms of quality and quantity.

Dr. Sami Alhajjar, Head of Department of Pediatrics at KFSH&RC Riyadh, expressed his happiness with the participation of trained physicians in the fields of scientific research, pointing out that these activities develop their research skills.

Dr. Wajeeh Aldekhail, Head of Pediatric Research Unit at KFSH&RC Riyadh, presented statistics regarding the number of research published in prestigious and international scientific journals in the past six years, which reached (206) research. “Pediatric Research Unit published (37) research in 2017, and discussed (105) research in the last three years, including (45) research papers presented in this year Research Day, in addition to (18) verbal research, and (13) research posters presented by pediatric consultants in different specialties, resident physicians, fellow physicians at KFSH&RC in Riyadh and Jeddah, and students of College of Medicine in AlFaisal University. Research subjects were centered on heart diseases, rheumatism, gastroenterology, immunodeficiency diseases, cystic pulmonary fibrosis, genetics, and endocrinology, with the aim of enriching the fields of scientific research and spreading the spirit of competition among physicians and being aware of the latest developments” Dr. Aldekhail stated.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of outstanding pediatricians, such as Dr. Sulaiman Almayouf, Pediatric Rheumatology Consultant, Dr. Hamoud Almousa, Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Consultant, and Dr. Bandar Alsaud, Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Consultant, for their efforts and publication in the field of scientific research, in addition to their research activities presented and discussed at international medical conferences and in prestigious scientific journals. The Research Day also witnessed the honoring of distinguished researchers including fellow physicians in different specialties of pediatrics, namely Dr. Faten Zidan and Dr. Abdulaziz Almutairi.
