In 2022, 254 articles were published in scientific journals by different medical and clinical departments.

6th Annual Hospital Research Recognition Day: Outstanding researchers were awarded.

Human Investigator Program: 14 participants successfully graduated.

Education:

  • Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program is an online research educational program, for which available courses are free of charge to all KFSH&RC-J staff.

  • Human Investigator Program (HIP) is a research mentorship program initiated by Research-Jeddah Division to help improve the research skills of clinicians, nurses, and junior scientists of various disciplines.

  • Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) is a secure web application for creating and managing online surveys and databases. This is designed specifically to support online and offline data capture for research studies.

Research Ethics Committee-Jeddah (REC) primarily ensures that all research activities involving human subjects at KFSH&RC-J comply with national and international ethical and safety standards and that research resources are optimally utilized.

Office of Research Affairs:

  • Processes research applications
  • Manages Clinical Trial Agreements and study budgets.
  • Ensures that research activities are implemented in accordance with national/international ethical standards.
  • Audits research proposals and published manuscripts
  • Assures research compliance with regulatory authorities.
  • Provides research educational opportunities to hospital staff.

Basic Research Section:

  • Develops technologies based on personal health data and to generate an individual profile.
  • Develop methods to obtain biological models of hospital patients.
  • Enhances research programs.
  • Creates collaborations through involvement with students, faculty, researchers, and scientists at local, regional, and international levels.

Clinical and Translational Research Section:

  • Assists in the initiation and submission of new studies to REC.
  • Follow up on REC approval of the submitted research projects.
  • Assists in data management of the approved research projects.
  • Assists in submitting progress, amendment and final reports of the approved research projects.
  • Assists in the management of clinical trials.
  • Liaison between the investigators and biostatistician for data analysis.
  • Oversees CTU activities.

Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Bioinformatics Section:

*Develop novel bioinformatics computational methods.

Provides analysis for genomics, transcriptomic, and microbiome projects.

Provides statistical analysis for clinical, transnational, and biomedical research.

Provides consultations on various topics in data-driven research.

Provides editorial assistance for scientific publications.
