Program Overview:
The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), Riyadh radiation oncology residency program is an advanced five-year program accredited by Saudi Commission for Health Specialists (SCFHS). With seven residents, fifteen assistants, and consultants, the program is dedicated to producing well-trained radiation oncologists who provide exemplary patient care and introduce them to clinical, translational, and/or laboratory-based research.
Training Structure
During their journey in the program, residents are involved with simulations and procedures in radiation oncology, including but not limited to: 3D-conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), stereotactic radiosurgery/CyberKnife radiosurgery, total body irradiation (TBI), total skin electron beam radiotherapy and interstitial/intracavitary brachytherapy treatment.
Educational Activities
Throughout the residency program, there are numerous teaching conferences scheduled every week. These include a lecture series in physics and a clinical lecture. Residents also have a half-day weekly teaching session consisting of didactic and interactive teaching in oncology.
