نظرة عامة على البرنامج:
يؤدي قسم طب التخدير في مستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي ومركز الأبحاث، دوراً نشطاً في تثقيف وتدريب الممارسين في التخدير. يستغرق برنامج تدريب شهادة الاختصاص خمس سنوات مع التدريب الإلزامي خارج المستشفى ولمدة 12 شهراً. والهدف الرئيسي من البرنامج منح فرصة للمتدربين (الأطباء المقيمين) لتطوير مهاراتهم بأعلى القدرات. علاوة على ذلك، تتواجد فرص واسعة للأبحاث على كافة مستويات التدريب، ونشجع المتدربين على متابعة ذلك بدعم كامل من الموظفين. نقدم للممارسين في التخصص يوماً أكاديمياً واحداً في كل أسبوع مع دعوة للمشاركة في الجولات ما بين الأقسام ونوادي المجلّات التخصصية.

We wish to welcome you at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Anesthesiology Residency Program. Our program will prepare you for the rigors of a career in anesthesiology by utilizing the wealth of diverse academic, research, and clinical resources found at KFSH&RC.
The mission of the residency program in anesthesiology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is to train outstanding clinical anesthesiologists who are leaders in clinical and academic anesthesiology and to support them as they complete that training process. We provide unparalleled exposure to complex patients and cases, more dedicated time to teaching and simulation .
Preparing our residents to obtain competitive promotions / positions (fellowships, specialist), to produce leaders, educators, compassionate and caring anesthesiologists.
Training Structure
- This is a five-year postgraduate structured training program in Anesthesiology that consists of two parts: the junior residency (the first three years of the program) and the senior residency (the last two years of the program).
- The junior years are designed to provide training in Core Anesthesia practice together with rotations in selected specialized fields.
- The senior residency years (R4 and R5), undertaken after passing the Part 1 exam, provide training in various sub-specialties in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. This is arranged in collaboration with the regional training committee.
Educational Activities
The anesthesia core program is composed of a series of interactive talks given by faculties once every week during the academic days throughout the five years of the program. The core program is part of the many tools of education for the residents to cover and master the general objectives of the Anesthesia Program, i.e., journal clubs, workshops, and clinical rotations.
