Dr. Alqahtani is a certified Specialist by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, Transplant Hepatology and Obesity Medicine. He is a distinguished physician-executive with over 20 years of leadership experience across academic medicine, clinical services, and healthcare governance in Saudi Arabia and the United States. He earned his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University and completed fellowships in gastroenterology at University of Calgary and advanced hepatology at Mayo Clinic.
He previously served in senior clinical and academic leadership roles at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He holds academic appointments at leading institutions, including Johns Hopkins University, Weill Cornell Medicine/New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Mayo Clinic, and Alfaisal University.
