Summary

Prepares all bakery products and desserts.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Reviews daily production needs of bakery items e.g. jellos, custards, puddings, desserts and prepares these items in the quantities specified using standard recipes.

2. Bakes salt-free bread or any special items needed for patient service.

3. Apportions various cakes and desserts according to the established standards for patient and employee services.

4. Maintains a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the complete operation in handling of equipment, supplies and the work area.

5. Replaces Senior Baker on his rest days or leave.

6. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

7. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned

Education

High School Education and completion of formal training or apprenticeship in bakery products preparation is required. 

Experience Required

Three (3) years of experience in baking/pastry section of an institutional food service operation, hotel, restaurant or bakery is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

Knowledge in personal computers required.
