Summary

Serves food and performas asscociated duties in the VIP section, Family Dining Room and other Hospital functions.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Sets dining tables with linen, cutlery, crockery, glassware and condiment sets. Supplies bread, butter, iced water and menu. Provides set up for catered events.

2. Takes orders for food and beverages and relays to kitchen.

3. Delivers A La Carte Room Service meals/snacks to patient and guests and provides hot beverages to patients and keep record of services provided.

4. Provides courteous service to Family Dining room customers, caterings and special functions for executive administration offices.

5.Collects soiled trays from patient rooms ensuring that all silverware, china and glasses are collected and returned to the Department. Conducts daily ward rounds to collect all Food Service equipment left on the wards.

6. Delivers and collects patient trays and refreshment trolleys.

7. Attends to patrons during meals and provide additional items requested.

8. Refills VIP refrigerated trolleys with beverage or additional food items and logs for billing. (If assigned to VIP section).

9. Responsible for billing all VIP/paid patient orders at the end of the day and prepares receipt reports.  Submits all bills and receipt report to the Finance Department. (If assigned to VIP section).

10. Prepares and presents bill to patrons upon completion of meals.

11. Cleans tables and buses dirty dishes for washing; re-sets tables for subsequent use.

12. Maintains area in a clean and orderly manner (tables, linen, kitchen pantry, etc.).

13. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.

14. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.

15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Associate Degree/Diploma in a Hotel and Restaurant Management or any related discipline or High School Education is required

Experience Required

No experience with Associate Degree/ Diploma or one (1) year of related experience with High School education is required.

Other Requirements(Certificates)

*Must be able to read, write and speak English. 

*Knowledge of computer applications and point of sale (P.O.S) as asset.
