Dr. Ayodele A. Alaiya is a Principal Scientist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, where he leads biomarker innovation initiatives for clinical applications. He is an internationally recognized expert in clinical proteomics and translational biomarker discovery, with over two decades of experience integrating advanced proteomic technologies with patient-centered research. His work focuses on the discovery and clinical translation of protein biomarkers for cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurosciences, infectious diseases, and organ transplantation. Using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, targeted proteomics, and integrative multi-omics platforms, he develops diagnostic and prognostic tools that support early detection, risk stratification, and personalized treatment strategies. Dr. Alaiya has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and established advanced proteomics platforms that directly contribute to precision medicine and improved patient outcomes.

Dr. Alaiya holds degrees in Medicine, Public Health, and Experimental Oncology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (United Kingdom). He earned his PhD from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, and has held senior scientific and leadership roles at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, including Director of the Stem Cell and Tissue Re-Engineering Program and Chairman of the Cell Therapy and Immunobiology Department. He is also a long-standing Visiting Scientist at the Cancer Center, Karolinska Institutet. Throughout his career, he has established advanced proteomics units, led translational research programs, secured competitive research funding, and supervised postgraduate trainees across multiple international institutions.
