Hala Khalil

Dr. Hala Khalil is an associate scientist in the Clinical Trials at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh. She holds a PhD in Public Health from University College Dublin, an MSc in Biology from McGill University, and a BSc from Ain Shams University. Her work focuses on the design and analysis of clinical trials and observational studies, including protocol development, sample size calculation, and preparation of statistical analysis plans. She collaborates closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams on studies in neurology, hematology, oncology, infectious diseases, and public health. Her research interests include BMI and cardiometabolic trajectories, maternal and child health, epilepsy outcomes and blood donation practices. She is actively involved in research education through teaching biostatistics and clinical research methods courses and workshops for clinicians and research coordinators.

Dr. Khalil has over 20 years of experience in clinical and epidemiologic research. She is currently an associate scientist in the Clinical trials Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, where she previously held several research assistant positions across biostatistics and biomedical research.

She completed her PhD in Public Health at University College Dublin with a focus on maternal and child health, BMI trajectories, and cardiometabolic risk, following an MSc in Biology from McGill University and a BSc from Ain Shams University.

Her work spans clinical trials, observational cohorts, and survey studies, and she serves as principal investigator or co‑investigator on projects in epilepsy, blood donation, COVID‑19, cancer and women’s health. She also leads and contributes to institutional training programs on clinical research methods, biostatistics, and use of statistical and reference management software.
