Overview
Professor Kyriaki Theodorou is a distinguished Medical Physics expert and currently serves as Chairman of the Biomedical Physics at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC), Saudi Arabia. She is also a Professor of Medical Physics and Medical Informatics in the Department of Medical Physics at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, Greece.
Her areas of expertise include clinical radiation therapy and medical imaging, decision-support and decision-making systems, medical informatics, stereotactic radiotherapy, treatment planning algorithms, Monte Carlo techniques, radiobiology, and optimization algorithms. Through her academic, research, and clinical contributions, she has played a significant role in advancing medical physics applications and improving the quality and effectiveness of radiation-based healthcare.

Career Background
Professor Kyriaki Theodorou earned a BSc in Physics (1994), an MSc in Medical Physics (1996), and a PhD in Medical Physics (1999) from the Medical Physics Department, Medical School, University of Patras, Greece. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Physics at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden (1999–2001). She currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Physics at the University of Thessaly. Her research has been supported by prestigious grants from the Swedish Cancer Institute, ESTRO, the Bodosakis Foundation, the Marie Curie Research Program, and the European Community.
She has extensive clinical experience in medical radiation physics at the University Hospital of Patras, Institut Curie (France), and the Karolinska Institute (Sweden). She has supervised more than 70 MSc and 35 PhD theses and has held several international leadership roles, including Secretary General of the European Board for Accreditation in Medical Physics (EBAMP) and Scientific Expert for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
