Dr. Rong Bu leverages the translation of multi-omic and cancer genomic datasets to advance personalized therapeutic strategies. He is proficient in advanced molecular techniques, including next-generation sequencing technologies, protein immunoblotting, and high-dimensional flow cytometry.
His current research focuses on the development of genetic screening panels aimed at enabling early cancer detection, improving prevention strategies, and supporting personalized medicine approaches for patients with common cancer types in Saudi Arabia.

Career Background
Dr. Rong Bu brings over three decades of experience in cancer genomic research, complemented by a decade of clinical practice as a hematologist/oncologist. His training includes three years as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the BC Cancer Research Centre in Vancouver, Canada. He holds an MD/PhD degree and specializes in pediatric hematology/oncology.
Dr. Bu has successfully led and delivered multiple funded research projects, including five supported by KACST, two by SANAD, and over ten funded through ORA programs. He has also authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
