Dr. Sameer is a health scientist specializing in epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical research. Career Background
Dr. Desai earned his PhD and MSc in Population and Public Health from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada where his research examined the epidemiology and healthcare burden of Cystic fibrosis. Prior to joining King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre as a Scientist in 2024, he worked as a Senior Statistician with the British Columbia Ministry of Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority and served as a Research Methodologist at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to design studies, analyze complex healthcare datasets, and translate research findings into practice. His work spans respiratory medicine, oncology, mental health, infectious diseases, surgery, maternal health, and health systems research, with more than 40 peer-reviewed publications to date.
