Overview
We care for mothers, babies, and children facing serious health challenges, including rare diseases, premature births, birth defects, and high-risk pregnancies. Our specialist teams diagnose accurately and deliver effective treatments, achieving excellent outcomes for our patients through clinical research and compassionate, family-centred care.
Pediatrics
As a national and international referral centre, we care for children facing serious and life-threatening conditions. We lead the region in pediatric transplantation for immunodeficient children and novel therapies for rare diseases. Our specialists provide advanced care for extremely premature infants and complex cases requiring cutting-edge treatments. Through groundbreaking research, innovative virtual care, and artificial intelligence integration, we advance how we diagnose, treat, and support children with challenging medical needs.
Pediatric Hematology & Oncology
Our institution at The National Children's Cancer Centre is the GCC's only specialized institution dedicated exclusively to childhood cancer, blood disorders, and stem cell transplants. Our multidisciplinary team of oncologists, surgeons, radiation specialists, pathologists, and critical care physicians collaborate on every case. We deliver treatments tailored to each child, supported by active research shaping pediatric oncology's future. Through scientific innovation, compassionate care, and comprehensive family education, we achieve outcomes that set regional standards.
Obstetrics & Gynecology
We provide comprehensive care for women facing complex reproductive health challenges. Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists manage high-risk pregnancies complicated by medical conditions or fetal concerns, using advanced diagnostics and interventions before birth. Gynecology teams treat complex benign and malignant conditions, pelvic disorders, and perform surgical procedures. Specialized fertility services help couples overcome infertility and prevent hereditary conditions through pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. Our adolescent service provides age-appropriate care for young women.
Leading innovation in pediatrics & women's health
We're the region's largest centre for severe combined immunodeficiency and primary immunodeficiency disorders, ranked among the world's best by the Vermont Oxford Network. Our specialists pioneer groundbreaking treatments, from laser therapy for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome to CAR T-cell therapy for childhood cancers. We operate the Gulf's largest JACIE-accredited stem cell transplant program, performing 160 procedures annually with survival rates matching international standards, and lead major international research advancing care across pediatrics and women's health.
