Summary

Develops and coordinates an ongoing Quality Improvement (QI) program to ensure compliance to the regulations and standards of the Kingdom and JCIA. Reviews incident reports and recommends corrective action to avoid recurrence.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Ensures that Kingdom and JCIA regulations and standards for quality improvement are known and that the Pharmaceutical Care Division is in compliance.

2. Develops and maintains pharmacy competency assessment plan on an annual basis that is congruent with the Hospital Performance Improvement IPP.

3. Provides and updates the Pharmacy Performance Improvement plan on an annual basis in accordance with the Hospital Performance Improvement Plan. Updates the policy and procedure manual.

4. Integrates and coordinates performance improvement activities within the Division. Prepares reports as necessary.

5. Participates in interdisciplinary Performance Improvement teams to improve the service provided to the clients of KFSH & RC.

6. Interprets standards and performance improvement processes to pharmacy personnel.

7. Reviews incident reports and provide written responses. Ensures that incidents/accidents involving medication errors, hazardous substances, property damage and occupational injuries have been properly investigated.   Evaluates incident reports and recommends corrective action to avoid recurrence.

8. Reviews appropriate literature to maintain awareness of new developments.

9. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.

10. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.

11. Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Education

Master Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, or Pharm.D. Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.

Experience Required

Four (4) years’ experience in a hospital pharmacy with Master or Pharm.D is required. 

Other Requirements(Certificates)

CPHQ certification is required.
