Respiratory Care Services Department Jeddah

 

Introduction:

The Respiratory Care Internship program is a one-year (52-week) training Program, built around various clinical specialties covered by Respiratory Care Services. The established plan designed to provide the intern with a fulfilling Learning experience and to facilitate completion of all key competencies and Clinical skills. The practical components of this program have been specifically developed to meet the clinical educational required to complete the academic degree.

 

Objectives:

 

The aim is preparing interns to their professional clinical Respiratory Therapist role after graduation. It designed to serve as a comprehensive clinical practice to enhance the interns’ attainment of the program learning outcomes in several domains;

  • The Airway Management
  • Emergency Room
  • Intensive Care Unit
  • Long Term Care/homecare
  • Outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
  • Special Studies Pulmonary Function Lab/Sleep Lab
  • Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units

 

Duration:

Training program comprised of multiple phases over 52 weeks as follows:

  • ICU and Rapid Response Team Rotation
  • General ward Rotation
  • NICU and PICU Rotation
  • ER Rotation
  • Pulmonary Function Lab Rotation
  • Sleep Lap Rotation

 

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Internship request letter from Intern’s sponsor
  • Saudi national or born to Saudi mother only
  • GPA 4 out of 5 or 3 out of 4 or above
  • Pass Respiratory Therapy Basic Knowledge Exam
  • Pass the interview
